Science week experiments

As part of science week, we are completing one science experiment per day. Today we demonstrated that by piercing a water filled sandwich bag with a pencil, a temporary seal forms between the pencil and the plastic!

Real Life Maths Lesson

Today, boys in third class enjoyed a real life maths lesson, whereby they used an Aldi catalogue to search for and record prices and where they solved problems relating to money.

Georgian History in Cork City

Today we visited Cork City Library where we enjoyed a presentation on Georgian history as part of the annual Childrens’ Book Festival. The authentic costumes and artefacts were a huge hit with the boys.

Dear Old City by the Lee….

Third class boys undertook a walking tour today visiting some of the city’s bridges and quays. The boys followed a route on a map and identified quays and bridges as they walked, on their maps.
